Revolut announced that Greek customers can now top up via credit and debit card. The move comes following the lifting of capital controls by the Greek government on September 1st, which has also seen the maximum ceiling on cash withdrawals from Greek banks abolished.
Greek Revolut customers now have a number of simple ways to load money onto their Revolut account, via a debit card, credit card, bank transfer or Apple Pay. Greek customers can already open a personal Euro account in minutes in order to receive payments such as their salary, regardless of their country of residence, without requiring a minimum balance to open an account or incurring monthly account fees.
Launched in July 2015, London-based Revolut has signed up 7 million customers across Europe, with over 115,000 customers based in Greece and around 250 new Greek users signing up each day. Over 115,000 customers have also signed up to Revolut in neighbouring Malta, while 70,000 have joined in Cyprus, bringing the total number of Revolut customers in the region to over 300,000.
